With the Covid crisis we have realized that working in a hospital means to be confronted with life and death in a very direct way. AND OUTSIDE LIFE GOES ON takes us to the heart of the hospital realm following the lives of Éric, Frédérique and Giuseppe. Their fates cross when several regional Swiss hospitals shut down, making way for a bigger, more modern, rational and functional hospital. Through their eyes Éric and Frédérique, two emergency nurses, make us see their cruel confrontations with the suffering of their patients and their encounters with death.
